IV Therapies in Denver, CO

IV Therapies

GWC has administered over 150,000 IVs in the last 25 years. We participated in the Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy (TACT) trial funded by the National Institutes of Health performed between 2003-2012

What is IV therapy?

Intravenous (IV) therapy is designed to quickly deliver fluids and medications throughout the body at higher levels than are possible through oral or other routes of administration. Virtually 100% of nutrients administered intravenously are available for use by cells. Other therapies lose potency because they must pass through the digestive tract or elsewhere before reaching the blood stream.

At Grossman Wellness, we have a dedicated IV room (with 14 chairs) designed to provide our patients with a variety of IV therapies in comfort (along with a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains.)

What we offer?

IV Descriptions

High Dose IV Vitamin C – Nutritional IV Vitamin C

While low doses of vitamin C serve as an antioxidant, when given intravenously at high doses, vitamin C changes to a pro-oxidant meaning that it can oxidize or destroy cells. All normal, healthy cells in the body possess enzymes that can neutralize these pro-oxidant effects and are not harmed. Cancer cells lack these enzymes and are killed. We provide high-dose IV vitamin C therapy as an add-on to standard cancer therapies. Studies have shown that high doses of vitamin C administered intravenously can destroy cancer cells while leaving healthy cells in the body unharmed. We have seen high dose IV vitamin C help with a wide variety of stage III and stage IV malignancies including cancers of the colon, breast, prostate, ovary, and others. We measure levels of vitamin C in the bloodstream as we titrate up to a dose that will provide maximal benefit. High dose IV vitamin C is meant to be used in conjunction with conventional cancer therapies.

Chelation Therapy

The word “chelation” comes from the Greek word chele meaning the claw of a crab. Chelation therapy grabs onto toxic heavy metals such as lead, aluminum, mercury and cadmium to facilitate their removal from the body. Many people are increasingly exposed to these toxic heavy metals as part of “modern” life. These toxic heavy metals can disrupt the nervous system, cardiovascular system and digestive system as they accumulate in the body over time. They can displace healthful minerals such as magnesium and copper from their designated locations as part of our enzyme system, which can lead to a host of health conditions including cardiovascular disease.

Grossman Wellness has been providing patients with chelation therapy for over 25 years and participated in the federal TACT trial (Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy) funded by the National Institute of Health. The study found EDTA chelation therapy to be statistically superior to placebo in the treatment of cardiovascular disease in patients with previous heart attacks. As a result of these encouraging findings, the government has funded TACT II, which is currently underway to establish if these positive findings can be verified.

NAD Therapy

NAD has been hailed by Harvard Medicine as being able to reverse aging markers of the brain by up to 20 years. When your NAD+ levels are increased, your cells are able to produce more energy and your beneficial genes are “turned on.” Many of our patients claim increased mental clarity and energy and an improved sense of overall wellness. NAD is short for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. It is a coenzyme that is found in all living cells and is responsible for regulating cellular aging and maintaining proper energy generation. This treatment is for people looking to increase energy and halt (even reverse) signs of aging.

Studies have shown NAD can help improve mental clarity and energy as well as assist in the treatment of health issues including addictions, Lyme Disease, fibromyalgia and many others.

Myers’ Cocktails

Many illnesses and conditions associated with digestive disturbances prevent the absorption via the digestive tract of nutrients needed to maintain good health. Myers’ Cocktail (originally pioneered by Dr. John Myers of Johns Hopkins) provides patients with a vitamin and mineral formulation that includes  magnesium, calcium, B vitamins and vitamin C. Studies have shown Myers’ cocktails may benefit patients with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, upper respiratory tract infections, migraines, chronic sinusitis, seasonal allergies, acute asthma attacks and cardiovascular disease. Myers’ cocktails have a long safety record and can be completed in less than 30 minutes.

Immune Formula

Sometimes people require a greater degree of nutrient support than can be achieved with a Myers’ cocktail. Perhaps they are fighting an acute infection or feel run down or have been exposed to some potentially harmful environmental or infectious toxins. In these cases, our Immune Formulas can be of benefit. They include many of the same ingredients as are found in Myers’ cocktails, but in greater amounts to provide enhanced support. These IVs typically require 90 minutes.

Glutathione

Glutathione is the premiere antioxidant molecule in the body. While vitamin C is regarded as the most important water-soluble antioxidant and vitamin E occupies the same role as a fat-soluble antioxidant, both these vitamins rely upon glutathione to reinvigorate them. Whenever vitamin C or E neutralizes a free radical, molecules at the root of damage to the body, these vitamins are spent and out of commission – at least until glutathione comes along and essentially resuscitates them so they can spring back to life.

We routinely add moderate doses of glutathione to other IVs such as Myers’ cocktails and chelation therapy to enhance the benefits of these IVs. Larger doses of IV glutathione have been found of benefit in Parkinson’s Disease, hepatitis, chronic obstructive lung disease and several other conditions.

Amino Acids

Amino acids are the essential compounds for immune function, muscle growth, tissue repair, and overall well-being. While the body naturally produces some amino acids, others must be obtained through diet. However, factors like stress, illness, and an active lifestyle can deplete amino acid levels, making supplementation necessary.
Amino Acid IV Therapy can replenish essential amino acids for optimization of bodily functions such as:

Amino Acid IV Therapy provides a direct and highly efficient way to replenish these vital compounds, bypassing the digestive system for maximum absorption. This therapy delivers a customized blend of essential and non-essential amino acids, supporting energy production, muscle recovery, cognitive function, and immune health.

FAQ's

Can IV therapy cause side effects?

There is generally no side effect associated with IV therapy, but some patients may experience bruising or tenderness at the injection site. Rarely, there may be lightheadedness or mild reactions to the IV components. To ensure a safe and comfortable experience, Grossman Wellness Center (GWC) conducts thorough evaluations before each treatment.

The duration of an IV therapy session depends on the specific treatment. Nutritional IVs, like the Myers’ Cocktail, typically take under 30 minutes, while more comprehensive therapies, such as NAD or immune formulas, can require up to 90 minutes. Our dedicated IV room is designed to make your experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

IV therapy can be appropriate for individuals of all ages, but it is essential to assess each patient’s unique health situation. Children and elderly patients may require additional considerations to ensure their safety and comfort. At GWC, our practitioners carefully evaluate all patients to provide safe and effective care.

IV therapy often complements other medical treatments effectively. For instance, high-dose IV Vitamin C can support conventional cancer therapies, and NAD therapy may assist with recovery from chronic conditions. At GWC, we collaborate with your healthcare providers as needed to ensure your IV therapy fits seamlessly into your overall care plan.
