Tanalbit contains plant extracts called tannins which combat unwanted pathogens in the intestinal tract. The antimicrobial activities of tannins are well documented. The growth of many fungi, yeasts, bacteria, and viruses is inhibited by tannins. Interestingly beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus are not harmed by Tanalbit. Symptoms of gas, bloating, and diarrhea generally improve on Tanalbit. We use it most commonly to help kill abnormal and pathogenic bacteria growing in the colon. If you performed a stool microbiology test or a CDSA (Comprehensive Digestive and Stool Analysis) that showed abnormal bacteria in the colon, taking 1 – 2 bottles of uva ursi may be very beneficial in helping rid the colon of these pathogens. It is used interchangeably with Uva Ursi. For health maintenance, we recommend one capsule of Tanalbit twice a day.
