Am I a Candidate for PRP Treatment?
You may be a candidate for this procedure if you suffer with any of the following conditions:
- Tendonitis (acute inflammatory condition) or tendinosis (chronic inflammatory condition of tendons)
- Bursitis
- Osteoarthritis of the shoulder, knee, wrists, ankles
- Foot and ankle pain-achilles tendinosis, plantar fasciitis, chronic ankle sprains
- Arm pain-tendonitis, wrist pain
In order to determine if this treatment is the right one for you, please schedule an office visit with one of our practitioners. A history of your problem will be taken and a physical exam done to evaluate your individual condition and needs. Please bring copies of any CT scans, MRIs, X-rays or other diagnostic reports that have been done within the past 3 years to your appointment.
PRP can be done on the overwhelming majority of patients. Before doing PRP we will get a Complete Blood Count (CBC) to ensure that your platelet count is adequate for creating PRP. Patients with bleeding disorders or ongoing hematologic malignancies cannot receive PRP.
If you have chronic pain as a result of moderate to severe osteoarthritis of most joints or any of a number of soft tissue injuries such as rotator cuff tears, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, and chronic ankle sprains, consider PRP as a safe, simple, fast, natural, non-drug, nonsurgical treatment option.
