The word “chelation” comes from the Greek word chele or claw and refers to the chemical process of grabbing onto heavy metal ions. Many people today are increasingly exposed to toxic heavy metals such as lead, aluminum, mercury and cadmium. These toxic metals have a propensity for accumulating in the heart.[2]

The following editorial was written by a Florida cardiologist, Dr Jose Lamas. Like most cardiologists Dr Lamas was originally a strong skeptic of chelation therapy. Then he was selected to serve as the principal investigator for the Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy (TACT), a $30 million NIH-sponsored federal study of chelation therapy.
When the results of this double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 1700 patients became available, Dr Lamas ended up completely changing his mind. He was absolutely shocked to find how effective chelation therapy was in greatly reducing the risk of heart attacks and other problems. The results of the study showed that chelation therapy plus oral nutritional supplements reduced cardiac events 26% in patients overall and 51% in patients with diabetes. These results were nothing short of sensational! In his editorial below, published in the esteemed medical journal Cardiology, he recommends that his colleagues, other cardiologists, consider offering chelation therapy to their patients.
Dr. Terry Grossman and Grossman Wellness Center have been offering chelation therapy for more than 20 years. Our clinic has provided more than 100,000 chelation therapies with complete patient safety. Grossman Wellness was also the only chelation clinic in Colorado to participate in the TACT Trial.
If you would like to know more about receiving chelation therapy for yourself or someone you know because of cardiac risk factors such as elevated cholesterol, family history, high blood pressure or diabetes, or have a history of heart disease, we strongly encourage you to schedule an appointment with our office and find out how this safe, effective therapy can be of benefit to you.
